Steven's Story

Hi everyone, I hope I dont bore you with my life story. But, now that I have retired and am spending time looking back on my life, I feel a need to reconnect with that time when we had so much energy and life in us. Well, after leaving Burbank High school I went to Pierce JC with my good friend Gene Hernandez.It was at Pierce that I started to develop a love for learning and Gene talked me into going to San Jose State and into Criminology with Him. I got married to Jan Wahler (class of 68') and we moved. Received my BS there and Gene went on to become an Officer at Fullerton, while I became an Officer at Burbank PD in 1972. I eventually transfered to Brea PD in Orange County in 1975. Jan and I had four wonderful boys, oldest being an Officer at Downey PD. Jan and I divorced in 1996, and I married again. in one more son, Nathan, who is six right now. I have retired from Brea PD in 2006, having done some of the most thrilling assignments you can imagine. TV, in many respects, is right on the money. So, right now I enjoy golfing and reading, and oh yeah, raising Nathan. I have a new found respect for all you mothers out there and for Jan, who raised our four boys by herself. I did go back to college after San Jose State and got my Masters in Public administration from USC. Oh, and I do a little side work in Real Estate right now. So, writing this allows me to to complete this circle of Life we heard about in Lion's King. I enjoy reading about others I have gone to school with and reading some blogs that have been established.
