Steven Williams:  

Life Left for Cullowhee in 1975 to attend Western Carolina Universtiy. Worked in the oil fields during the summers in Hobbs, NM. Joined Lambda Chi Alph fraternity my senior year at Western Carolina and graduated with a BS degree in Social Work from Western in 1979. I met my wife at Western Carolina. She is from Charlotte, NC. I went to work for Millken directly out of school and lived in Belton, SC and Thomson, GA while working for Milliken. I later worked for Springs Industries in personel, training and manufacturing. During this time we lived in Rock Hill, SC. In 1986 my wife and I moved back to good old Gastonia. By doing this we accomplished two things. My wife's father, being a retired Mecklenburg police officer, said she could never marry anyone from Gastonia. Now not only did she marry someone from Gastonia we now live there. We have two daughters one of which attends Ashbrook, where she plays on the soccer team, which by the way has won the Big South 3A the last two years and she made all conference.
