Steven's Story

Life Well its been over 20 years and lots has changed. After high school I went to North Eastern Jr. College where I received my Associates in 1 1/2 years and moved to Washinton D.C. to do an Internship with the March of Dimes and Future Homemakers of America. Next adventure was moving to Brazil for two years, where I lived in the Amazons as a Missionary. I probably did more sight seeing then missionary work, but it was an opportunity of a life time. Upon returning home I finished my Bachelors at Brigham Young University in Psychology taking diversions along the way in Portugese, American Sign Language, and Ballroom Dancing. Yes, Dancing....and had a wonderful time. However, its not my profession. Shortly after graduating from BYU, I entered the University of Utah to receive my Masters in Counseling as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Presently, I am working for two hospitals in Utah where I work with difficult to treat children, adolescents, and adults who are engaging in parasuicidal behaviors, oppositional defiant disorder, conduct disorder, depression and anxiety. In addition, I ...Expand for more
just became a full time Professor and Director of Field Placements at Weber State University where I still teach classes in diversity and psychological theory, and help students in their senior year to apply theory and practice in their clinical rotations. I have a life partner with whom I am very happy with, and together we are raising 4 children, and one grand child. Our son is finishing his first year in law school and will doing an internship in International Law this summer. The granddaughter provides a challenge as this year she is 12 going on 20. She keeps reminding me "grandpa my difficult years are coming". I hope I live to see 45. My partner and I continue to travel throughout the United States playing golf. It occupies any free moments we have. Thank heavens for the relatives in Arizona because its cold here in Utah and serves as a great get-a-way for golf. We have been traveling lots these days playing different golf courses throughout the United States. Needless to say better keep the day jobs, cause I am no Tiger Woods. Well best to you all in all that you do. Steve
