Stewart's Story
Life
Born and raised in Syracuse, NY. Graduated from high school at Fayetteville-Manlius in '56. Joined the Navy in '56 and got out in '59 (stationed at HS-5 in Key West and at NAS Pensacola, FL). I joined the reserves until '67 when I went back on active duty. During these years I worked for 2 banks as a teller and computer operator and did investigative work for insurance companies. I married in '60 and had 4 kids (Scott, Steven, Stewart Jr., and Shellie). Stewart Jr. died of SIDS when he was a month old and Steven died at age 28 in 1990. Shellie died in 2002 of a brain aneurysm at age 38. She has a son Nicholas who was born in '85. Scott lives in the San Francisco Bay area and is now married to a gal from Peru. He has a son Scott Jr who now has a sons named Jason and Connor. When I went back on active duty I was assigned to NAS Alameda, CA. until '72. While in Alameda I got divorced and remarried, taking on 5 stepchildren (3 girls and 2 boys). I transferred to Whidbey Island, WA until '75. Then to the Reserve Patrol Wing Pacific at Moffett Field (San Jose, CA). When I made Chief Petty Officer in ...Expand for more
'76 I transferred back to NAS Alameda to establish the new Personnel Support Detachment. Left there in 1981 to go to NAS North Island (San Diego). I was assigned as Chief of the Naval Reserve Indoctrination Team at COMNAVAIRPAC. We had everything from the Mississippi to Hawaii and we did a lot of traveling. In '83 I retired and settled in the Bay Area. I did word processing and reports for a couple of geotechnical/ environmental engineering companies until '98 when we moved to Arizona. During the past 4 years I worked as the Victim Rights Coordinator for the Sheriff's Department with an office at the jail, then went to the Kingman Police Department to assist in the Evidence Room. I left there after a few months to have shoulder surgery (again). Since then I've had cervical surgery and two more back surgeries.
I am in Kingman, AZ which is about 100 miles southeast of Las Vegas on Interstate 40. My phone number is (928) 692-9233. If you are in the neighborhood, let me know and we'll get together. Also, I'm only 35 miles from Laughlin, NV which is more fun (I think) than Las Vegas and it's much cheaper.
