Sue's Story

I thought I should insert a comment here since I posted "now" & "then" photos-the "now" is a picture of myself with my youngest son :-)
As some of you already know, I married John Scott; we have 3 grown children, 2 boys & a girl, and 6 grandchildren to date, 3 boys & 3 girls, ranging in age from 1 year to 22 years.
John remained in construction until we retired, while I took every opportunity that came along to go back to school, and eventually managed to obtain my national certification as a paralegal through "NALA." I owe a huge debt of gratitude to Jimmy Wright for opening the door to an opportunity that provided me with a career in the legal field for nearly 30 years--thanks Jimmy!

n Oregon for us to "retire" on; now we're busier than EVER, but we love it! We've been blessed, and are very grateful.
Still, my years at Mt. Empire were some of the very best years of my life, with many friends (and teachers) who enabled me to believe in myself (NOT an easy task! :-)) I owe so much to so many, and remain humbled by the love and support I found at good old M.E.! I would LOVE to hear from anyone and everyone who would like to reconnect with me.

"STORY WIZARD":
My first job was at Cole's Cafe & Motel, where I got paid 25 cents per room to clean them. What I remember most about it is How independent I felt making my own money--I was 12. At 13, I was 'promoted' to 'waitress,' and continued to work at Cole's Cafe (in both locations in Jacumba) until I graduated high school in 1964.
