Sue's Story
It is so much fun to find long lost friends! I had wondered about my best friend Rosemary McHugh for so long , and now can share those missing years. I've had the good fortune of reconnecting with Bruce Andrise, whom I dated for three years. It is so enjoyable keeping up with his wife, Kathy, and his children and grandchildren!
Our adorable granddaughter is now 19, and attending CU Boulder, living in the Engineering Quad.. We are so fortunate that she grew up only a mile from us, and will miss her.
My husband and I still run DanSon Sales; manufacturers' reps for childrens' products. We represent 35 + suppliers, and cover the Rockies from Canada to Mexico. Fortunately, we now have representatives in all of the states, and our daughter Heidi is in the process of taking over Dennis' major accounts, so our load has been lightened over the years. Dennis has only a few accounts on the Western Slope of CO, and I do the commissions.
We live between a national forest and state park, and often have bear on our decks, and red fox begging for a piece of salmon to fall off the grill. We love riding our bikes up the canyon nearby; it is a b...Expand for more
eautiful ride, along a stream, but the only way they get grandma to the top (7 miles up) is with the promise of chocolate on arrival!
I lost my Father to colon cancer when he was only 56, After suffering a stroke in 2009, Mom, now 94 years, has had to be moved into a nursing home in CA. She outlived two husbands, and was totally independent until 2009.
Our favorite retreat is our lake place in northern MN. It has been in my family for 65 years, and has passed down through the generations.
I hope to catch up with many of you! How do you describe a life in one paragraph? I guess the best adjective would be LUCKY if we're still here, right!
Have any of you ever taken a river cruise? We enjoyed seven Viking River Cruises. They are fantastic, with only 100 -150 passengers. The Rhine, European, Russian, Istanbul/Ukraine and Yangtze trips were truly relaxing and memorable. You just step off the boat, and there you are in Cologne or Heidelberg, or Moscow etc. It was even more fun because we travel with my roommate from Knox College and her husband. We've known each other a couple of years!
Hello again, and best wishes to all!
