Marion Sue's Story
Life:
Married to Peter Mansell (ECI Grad 1965) since May 1970. We both started teaching at Eastwood C.I. in 1970. I moved to Bluevale C.I. two years later when it opened. Peter followed a year later. We both stayed teaching there until retirement in 2001. I did some supply teaching for a few years (at WCI too)and now I stay home and work on my genealogy. My health is not great unfortunately. Donahower (Rochester, NY),Yale Grad, Husband Rick Brock; Granddaughter Olivia Grace 1999 and two Grandsons, Spencer, born at Xmas 2003, & Owen born Jan 15/07; Heather (U. of Toronto grad 1999) , orchestral string and band marketing specialist for Yamaha Corporation Head Office in Buena Park, California. She now lives in Venice , CA.; David (UBC grad 2002, Music Compostion) teaches guitar, double bass,theory, & piano, and Rock School Summer Camp, runs "Baby Devil Productions", singer-songwriter, and is part owner of Maxwell's Music House in Waterloo. Margaret (U of W.grad in June/06), B.A., Fine Arts, Film). Margie also graduated from Sheridan College after a year of study in Film Editing. She now works full time at Technicolor. She has her own apartment in Toronto now with Darren Hutz.
My Mom is 90 now and still lives where I grew up. I live on the same block beside Dr.Voelker's house. My Aunt is 94 and still serves tea and gardens.
I am a retired Guidance Counsellor, Bluevale C.I., 2001. We spend some time at our cottage in Port Elgin. It faces Lake Huron and it is my favourite spot to relax and also have family parties. All in all, life is good. I am very lucky.

By the way, I'm on the WCI Registration Committee for WCI's 50th Anniversary Homecoming-for ALL former students, 1960 to now, 2010, the first weekend in June. Get your name on the mailing list, PLEASE, because if you're not there we will still try hard to find you. Help spread the word. Get on the list even if you can't be here. I always wanted to be a aid helper in Africa when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a silly idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. If my health were great, I would be there.
The wildest thing I ever did in school was to bag off school on my birthday (thank you Carl Kaufman, my homeroom teacher, for letting me leave class). I met a tech crew member, my HS sweetie, Rick MacKay, up on the catwalks above the stage for a lovely make-out session. I found out later that he became a Special Ed. teacher, almost exactly what I did. Anybody know where he is now? No, I won't meet him on the cat-walks. My family reads this....
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have new knees, painfree spine, and a mobility scooter to be able to deal with the day-to-day. But no thanks, thanks to an indexed pension, I don't want to go there. May-be volunteering is the answer. Hey, I am doing that, by trying to find Vikings to get on the email list for next June's BIG 50TH...
If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my yard and add on a huge deck. My dream home would be where I am..
