Life After high school I went to work for the Bell. All my spare time was spent at the Terrace roller skating. This is where I met my future husband, Steve. It was "love at first sight", we married in Aug of 1975. Steve was living and working with his dad in Peterborough, so I made the move there. I worked briefly with them until Jan. 1976. I spent the next 15 years working in the Photographic retail stores in Peterborough. At one time, between 1985-1990, I had my own business. I closed it in 1990, due to the economy going down in our area and the addition of several chain stores that moved into the area. My brother and his family moved back to Peterborough in 1990, and had a baby. I was not working at the time so I took over as care giver in Jan. 1992. I had Brendan till he went to school full time. Since then I went back to work with my husband, who now owns the family business. We have our own home that started off a small 4 room bungalo. We started to put an addition on in 1982, and did most of the work ourselves, with some help from family and friends. We have travelled over the years to various places. Mexico, South Korea, Portugal & Spain, Ireland and Arizona. After 30 years of marraige, my husband was not very happy with his life, and unfortunately for me at the time he got involved witha group of women runners and I guess the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. I have now been on my own for 2 1/2 years and really starting to enjoy my life again, I bought a Golden Retiriever and she has been my constant companion for the last 2 years. This past winter I went back to Arizonza for the first time in 4 years, and had a blast. I have also been to Nashville and can't wait to plan the next road trip. School Grade School 1961-1968 Corpus Christi Catholic School High School 1968-1972 Notre Dame High School Workplace I started to work for the Bell right after graduation. I worked in Directory Assistance Unit 1 and 2 at Asquith from June 12 1972 till I left Toronto to get married Aug, 1975. From Toronto I went to Peterborough and worked briefly with my husband and his father. In Jan. 1976 I started a career in Photography, first working for Kawartha Camera, that lasted almost 5 years. The business closed so I moved down the street to Choate Photo. I managed that company till we had a tragic fire in the downtown of Peterborough, just before Christmas, Dec. 1983. The fire wiped out several businesses, luckily we had a good connections with the distributors and we were up running very quickly. There was a change in the heirarchy that I didn't agree with so I struck out on my own. My business was called PHOTVISION, and it was on one of the main streets downtown. All the stores I worked in were within a block of each other. I was lucky to have been able to build up a good clientel that followd me to my different stores.
