Sue's Story
I worked for Da' Mouse (WDW) from 1971 to 1978. I graduated with degrees from both Seminole & Valencia Community Colleges. I left WDW to become a restaurant manager for Marriott International in a suburb of Detroit. Despite what you hear, I loved the weather up there and the people. My old man Ken is from Michigan. We were married in 1980 & our daughter, Janeen, was born there in 1985. I eventually left the restaurant world and worked in assorted jobs before landing a civilian job with Uncle Sam in 1988. 20 plus years later, I'm still with them & have worked my way up through the ranks. ravel. I've been to just about all 50 states now, including Alaska & Hawaii.
We returned to Orlando (the east side) in 1990 after the Michigan economy became too much to bear and I transferred with the same agency.
Our daughter works for Universal Studios in animated entertainment. If you've seen the Macy's parade at Universal, she's usually the only female inline skater in the very first unit that comes out. She's also studying to be a pastry chef.
Our lives revolve around the 3 miniature dachshunds who rule the house - a short-haired silver dapple (Speckles), a long hair silver dapple (Patty) and the "baby" Scooby - a long hair pie bald. They keep us quite entertained.
