Sue's Story
After graduating from high school, I worked 4 years at the First Trust Company in St. Paul; my job wasn't in the secretarial field that I wanted, so left there and started at 3M in 1969. I was very fortunate in that after 3 years there, I became the Executive Assistant to a man who climbed up the executive ladder and I was able to stay with him...worked for him for ...Expand for more
21 years until he retired. I continued working for executives until I retired in 2009 after 40 years at 3M.
I married Jack Kubiak (a St. Paul Eastsider) in 1976, and we have one daughter, Lisa, who is now 32 and is working as a therapist for autistic children. Jack died of lung cancer in 2012. Still living in the house on St. Paul's East Side we bought in 1977.
