Sue's Story
My husband, John and I have been married for 42years, have three kids (all three married and all six teaching, coaching, etc.), seven grandchildren, and parents who still live independently. We live part of the year in our home of 35 years nestled in the trees in Burley and part of the year in our cottage on the water on a little off-grid island off the coast of British Columbia. My husband retired after 23 years as a principal and has continued to work for City University, coach and mentor principals, and work with specific schools for school improvement at the state level. I retired from teaching and love my role as wife, mom, grandma, daughter, sister, cousin, niece, and friend. My children are all contributing members of society. ...Expand for more
My daughter teaches 5-8 year old children with Autism, has adopted a child with severe and profound needs, has a birth child, and will adopt from Ethiopia next fall or winter. One son is very involved in his union, coaches his elementary school basketball team, has a special gift for working with students who need "life coaches", and is a wonderful dad to his two boys. The other son teaches at the high school level,is the head football coach at his high school, and has, in addition to his three children, a football player who has joined his family for the past year and a half. As you can tell I am proud mom. I have loved every stage of life and thought it the best and this stage is no different. I hope all of you are feeling the same.
