Sue's Story
After a period of going back to school every 5 years (degrees in math and electrical engineering) and moving nearly every year, I've been in the same house in Southwestern PA for 13 years.
Never married, had my daughter Anna Catherine Spade 4 days before my 40th birthday in 1993. The relationship with her father didn't survive the pregnancy.
My parents died before Annie was born, and I'm an only child. I figured out recently that we've accumulated pets to take the place of family - currently 3 chihuahuas, 4 grey tabby cats, 3 guinea pigs, a mouse, and 2 rats.

reless network, and opted out of going back to Kansas City in a corporate reorganization.
In 1998 I went to work for FedEx Ground, a small package delivery company 7 miles from my house. If you know Pittsburgh at all, you can appreciate the joy of a commute with no tunnels or bridges, but 50-hour weeks with 20% overnight travel are not a good fit with single motherhood.
Since 2004 I've been on disability for bipolar disorder, but I'm looking to return to work soon on a part-time basis. I'll be teaching physics at Community College of Allegheny County beginning January 2009.
I've taken tap dancing lessons for two years. I've performed in two recitals, and I have the pictures and DVDs to prove it.
