Sunny's Story
I left Hawaii as I entered college at Northwestern University in Illinois. I was there for 2 years, then decided to go back to Korea where my family was.
I graduated college there getting my Bachelor in Music. Performed in professional orchestras, taught conversational English for 2 years, then it dawned on me that I really should continue on to get a Master's degree. I packed up and flew to New York City, audtioned, got accepted, and received Master's degree in Music. Then I jumped into Advertising/ Marketing to stay in the City and support myself. But it led to a full-time job and career that lasted for about 5 years. The weather in NYC was getting a little too cold in Winter and too hot in Summer. I packed up and left for California. There I fell in love with Financial industry, ...Expand for more
which I have been now in for over 10 years. I am presently working as a Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch in Pasadena, CA.
I am married to a Tax Attorney with two boys at age 6 and 4.
Back when I was at Kalani, my English was still suffering, and the new culture was hard to adapt. However, I often expressed myself through music (violin, piano, and vocal) by participating in school orchestra, drama, and talent shows.
I played the violin to our graduation song.
I miss my friends from my class, even though I may not remember all of their names and faces since I left Hawaii in 1984, and lost touch with everybody except with Shirley Voeltzke.
I am curious about how everyone is doing. Write me a note. Take care, Kelley (formerly known as Sunny. "Sunny" was a bit too cute for college)
