Susan's Story
Life
I have been living in Amarillo TX for 25 years and love it! I have acquired degrees in sociology, social work and a masters in education. I've been working for the state of Texas for 15 1/2 years (I can retire in 4-1/2) YEAH! My area of social work is children with special health care needs. I have 1 dog-Chili, a 4 yr old Vizsla. I own my home and enjoy working in the garden, redecorating, and just relaxing on the deck. I am also a silversmith-I design and create jewelry-been doing that for 10 years. Traveling through New Mexico and visiting Santa Fe and Taos are great road trips. Enjoy motorcycle riding. I am not a member, but can be reached at susanstokesatcoxdotnet.

ved a degree in sociology in 1989, a degree in social work in 1990 and re-enrolled in 1992 for the masters in education program (counseling) and graduated in 1995.
Workplace
I have been working for the State of Texas since 1990. First, for the Texas Dept of Human Services in the Community Care for the Aged and Disabled program and then in 1992 I went to work for the Texas Department of Health which is now call the Texas Department of State Health Services. I provide case management to children with special health care needs and their families. I volunteer for Make A Wish and am a member of their board, Panhandle Independent Living Center, League of Women Voters, Planned Parenthood, The Arc of Potter/Randall County, Living through Education Program, Martha's Home, and a member of the board of the Second Chance Foundation.
