Susan's Story
Life
Well, I graduate in May from the Nursing Program at Harper College which is a suburb of Chicago. I have been divorced for a while now, but am not really dating. I just don't seem to have the time to be a good girlfriend, so I feel like why bother. Of course I know that should I meet some one I am really interested in, it wonÂt feel like a big imposition. My dating pool is pretty small too - most of my friends are either married, or they also attend school with me. Nursing is a profession dominated by women, and I am not gonna find what I am looking for there! Oh, and don't ask me 'bout my ex, I haven't got a clue what he is up too now. But I canÂt really say I am sorry about that though. Which is kinda weird since we were best friends since about the day we met. I have learned to endure the winters here in IL, and I really do enjoy living here. But San Antonio is still and prolly always will be home. All things Texan, ya know what I mean? I make frequent trips back home too. I was a travel agent for many years, and just canÂt seem not to travel. Mostly around the states, but I have been to Mexico, and Europe. That's one reason I canÂt wait to graduate, I'll have the vacation time and the $ to travel!
School
No way am I gonna list my biggest crush. Esp. since his name is on this site! Though he prolly still doesnt know that I exist! Most inspiring teacher??? Senor Escamilla. he was my sophmore US History and junior year Econ instructor. He was soo mean, esp. to the Lassos(the name of the dance team in high school). It made me very careful of the tone I take with others! My craziest memory of high school - oh, must have been when I dated an older guy I met a club (no - I wasnt carded to get in, and th...Expand for more
is guy never even asked). And then it turned out he was a student teacher at my high school. I avoided him for months (and hated taking an alternate route to english class). One day I forgot to avoid him in the main hall, I was dressed in my oh so cute dance team uniform complete with a big white ribbon bow crowning my pony-tail. even looking my age for once, he recognized me as the girl he'd been dating. He broke up with me that afternoon! And now I cant even remember his name....
College
I went to UTSA for 2 semesters in 93-94. Had 3 roommates, and all our boyfriends. Heather, from TN, I miss you. and Sarah the holy roller...ugh. her boyfriend was soo gay. I dont know how they ever hooked up. Heather used to get a tat just about every month or so, on a very regular schedule. Cover up one, add some accent. At the time, I just couldnt understand why anyone would spend so much money on something sooo pain ful. Now I have two! One is on my calf, the Texas state flower - blue bonnets. So I can take my roots with me where ever I go. The other is on the nape of my neck. Inside a full moon, is the sillohet of the Goddess grasping a waxing and a waning moon. It symbolizes the trinity aspects of life - child, woman and crone. Did I mention, I am pagan. when I have time I will delve in to wicca. Wicca would be the equivolent of the denomination within a religion, tho' I am not quite comfortable calling Paganism a religion (just cuz of the bad association I have with most things religious)
Workplace
Worked for american airlines, became a travel agent. Didnt know what to do with my self after 9/11. decided to go back to school. was able to get in to a very competive nursing program and will graduate in May 05
