Susan's Story
Life
For the past 42 years,I have been living in Dallas.After receiving a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Design,I worked as a buyer for J C Penney's and as a jewelry store manager. For 32 years,I was employed by the international snack food company,Frito Lay,at their headquarters as a Accounting Ops Coordinater.When Pepsico did a restructuring in February 2012, I was offered early retirement.I took some well deserved time off and went back to work in February 2013 as an A/R Specialist for RealPage Inc.. My job there was sent overseas in January 2018. As of July 2018 , I am fully retired and loving it!. I got married in 1996. My husband, Mike, attended Arkansas State University as a music major and Dallas Art Institute for audio tech. He is a bass player. in Carrollton, a northwest suburb of Dallas.I have a 36 year old stepdaughter, a granddaughter who is 15 years old and two grandsons who are 9 and 10.My sister,Linda, (class of '78) also lives in Texas.She and her husband live in Hurst, a suburb of Forth Worth. Linda is retired from AMR/American Airlines.They have two sons.Our parents left Newburgh to live in the Detroit,Michigan area and then in Kansas City ,Kansas. They retired to north central Florida in 1990.I am an 30 year Breast Cancer survivor and a member of the Susan G Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.Mychildhood friend,Gloria and I are going to go to China sometime in the future. I want to go to the Woolong Panda Preserve and cuddle a baby Panda.Three years ago, the artist in me was re-awakened and I began my craft business. I sell my creations at a Farmers Market on Sundays. Just enjoying life.
