Susan's Story
Life
I've had a great life since high school, have enjoyed quite a bit of freedom to roam never having any children. Was married the first time for ten years and now have been married to a great guy for eleven. He has two daughters and two grandsons so when I need a mother or grandma fix, I have them to be with. My husband and myself are avid motorcycle enthusiasts and do a lot of traveling, especially now that he is retired. I work part time as the Admin Assistant for the ER Physicians at a small town hospital in Northeast Ohio. I'm very lucky that the company I work for allows me time off to pursue other interests. Through the two motorycle clubs we belong to, we take part in many volunteer organizations which is very rewarding. In addition to motorcycling, I'm also involved in gardening, scrapbooking, stamping, jewelry making, stained glass, sewing, and photography. I'm a little bit nervous about attending the reunion as I wasn't a real popular gal at school so I'll be thinking about that some more.
College
I never went to college, starting working right out...Expand for more
of school and never looked back.
Although I've taken many, many continuing education courses, etc. Never stopped learning and won't in the future.
Workplace
I've been very fortunate in my 'career' path, I've not had glamorus jobs but they have been fulfilling and sometimes down right fun. I've mostly worked in an office environment from nuts and bolts firm to construction to emergency room. Each job was better than the last and the one I have now, allows me the freedom to travel with my husband and be there for our grandson if I need to be.
Military
Never made into the service. I had signed up, took the physical and was accepted into the Navy but when it came time to sign the final papers and take the oath, I couldn't give them four years of my life. If only they could have taken two....I would have done that. I often wonder what my life would be like now had I taken that road.
I took one of those career tests that colleges offer and it showed that with my personality I would have done well in a military environment. Who knows where that would have gone.
