Susan's Story
Life
Hello, if you remember me, I would love to hear from you. I was small - 4'9", somewhat of a rebel to school (skipped school often). Enjoyed home economic classes, not much else then. Names and faces have faded some, but every now and then someone triggers a flood of memories. I lived in several areas throughout Nashua over the school years. Went to Fairgrounds Jr. High and Nashua High School when it was on Elm St. My step-father, owned and ran Soucy's Lake St. Market. I quit school in 69 (bad move) worked at the Nashua Mall, got my GED and then joined the Navy in 70 (great move). I retired in January 2003. I had married in 71 and have 2 grown sons and 1 grand daughter. My husband (Juan) of 29 years passed away suddenly from a heart attack in November 2000. Life is very different now without him. April 2002, I moved into a new home in the greater Orlando area. I have...Expand for more
traveled some and enjoy nature, dining out, friends, volunteering, rock and roll concerts, theme parks and so much more. Keep me advised of any high school reunions for the class of 1970? Drop me a line.
College
I had attended the "Professional Business and Medical Institute in Norfolk, Virginia for one year from 1979-1980. I was class president. Boy was this different from high school. I loved it. I was studying to become a Medical Secretarial Assistant.
I then entered Tidewater Community College in Virginia Beach to further my education and use my GI Bill Education Benefits. I wanted to become a dietician. My course of study for that was Hotel and Restaurant Institutional Management. The courses required were not being offered for 2 semesters and I eventually got a civil service job and then a transfer to the Panama Canal. I did not continue my course of study.
