Susan's Story
Life
Hello All,
Some of you know I left Vero basically to put distance between me and someone named Gary. I quit the Beach Bank to work as a waitress at a lodge in the Pisgah National Forest (on the parkway near Asheville, NC). It was there I met my ex-husband who had aspirations of becoming a professional scuba diver, so back to FLA we went (Palm Beach county). We divorced after 7 years - no kids and I never went down the marriage path again. I lived in West Palm for almost twenty years, with my last career being a promotions coordinator for Clear Channel Radio (think, 98.7fm The Gater). I always missed the mountains and there came a point (1999) where I decided to move back. I took at job as an event coordinator at a convention center in Dalton, GA. That lasted about 3 and a half years and I just got burned out on the schedule & the management. Now I am a project coordinator for one of the big carpet companies here (Carpet Capital of the World), overseeing major ...Expand for more
installations in government facilities, corporate accounts, schools, hospitals and nursing homes. It's becoming quite confining (punching a time clock, working in a cubicle, conforming...I always was a restless spirit) and lately I've been re-examining how to proceed. It's been said I should write a book - I have some ideas, most of which involve our questionable activities of the 70's! If you're reading this, I'd love to have your contributions - the wildest stories you can recall. I have an old house (built in 1946) in the country - my view is Dug Gap Mountain, where there was quite a Civil War skirmish & it's beautiful. I spend my spare time working in the yard and visiting our family cabin - my sisters & I have 40 acres with a cabin near Franklin, NC which is only about 3 hours from me. I hope to make contact with some of my old friends - e-mail me at suebridges at netzero.net. It was wild going to the reunion - I only wish it could have lasted another few days...
