Susan's Story
Life
Susan Mazur-Stommen is an academic, author, researcher, teacher and consultant. She began her career working in Silicon Valley when, at age 18, she took a job Xerox as a software beta-tester. The next several years were spent Âin the belly of the beast with much of that time working in marketing. At the same time she pursued a degree in Anthropology at San Jose State University, which she received (with honors) in 1995.
In 1996 she left Silicon Valley to get her MasterÂs and Doctorate in Cultural Anthropology at the University of California, Riverside. She completed her doctorate in Cultural Anthropology at the University of California, Riverside in 2002. Her book, Engines of Ideology: Urban Renewal in Rostock, Germany 1990-2000, is available from Transaction Publishers.
