Susan's Story
Life
After graduating from Tustin High in 1968, I went to Chapman College in Orange. Sailing on the Ryndam for WCA in Spring '70 changed my life.... I gained confidence and the desire to travel.
It even affected my career choice, as I became a travel agent in the mid-70s. After 15 years as an agent and agency manager in Northern California, I taught travel agents, first at a private training school, then for the computer reservation service arm of United Airlines.
I lucked out of that into working for one of the first Internet travel sites, first as Operations Manager, then Director of QA and Director of Project Management.

e company and the job, I quit in the summer of 2003 and took a year off. During that time, I spent five weeks in Europe by myself, visited friends in the US, and had a ball!
This past summer, I re-entered the workforce as Concierge at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco, another perfect job for me.
I've been married to the same guy for 25 years, we own a condo in North Beach (San Francisco), and really enjoy life in the city. We eat out, ride the cable cars, and have lots of great friends.
My parents are still alive and healthy, living in Sonoma. At some point, I hope to retire (winning the lotto will help) and live overseas for a while. Apparently, WCA started something that will never finish!
