Susan's Story
College
I attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University 1975-1976, then went to Kansas City to nursing school (Research Medical Center School of Nursing). While in KC, I took classes at UMKC and Rockhurst College. In 1990, I went back to NSU & finished my Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1992.
Workplace
I graduated from nursing school in 1979, and lived/worked in Kansas City for 3 years. I was a travel nurse for 9 years after that...Expand for more
, traveling on contract coast to coast, including a year in Hawaii! I then went back to school to finish a BSN, and came up to Alaska after that (and have been here almost 11 yrs). I am a Clinical Supervisor in the intensive care unit, which means I get all the headaches and none of the recognition :)! I enjoy the challenge of the critically ill patient, and feel very rewarded to see them improve, knowing I had a key role in their recovery.
