Susan's Story
Life
Mid fifty-ish and enjoying having both of my boys married and out of the house. Working full time. Widowed after 24 years of marraige. Met the 2nd man of my dreams about 10 years ago and enjoying life all over again but still single, by choice. Will be a great-grandmother for the 1st time in late June 2004. (Who let that child do that!) (update: 2008: 3 great grandsons and a great graddaughter later and 1 on the wayin March!)
I almost lost my oldest son in 2001. He's an Indiana State Trooper. He was backing up a city officer police on "Man With A Gun" call about 3:30 in the afternoon, in an apartment complex, just before School buses were to unload students for the day. As they approached the man's door he came out with a 357 and began shooting. He shot the city officer in the shoulder and as Bruce returned fire, hitting him in the chest and klling him, Bruce was hit in the left temple. At first we were told he wouldn't make it to the hospital, then through surgery, and then another surgery. Finally we were told he'd live but be a vegtable. Well, after 7 years of PT he's walking and hopeing to return...Expand for more
to Police work!. The Lord gives us miricles all the time. Just keep praying, he's living proof of God's love.
I always wanted to be a Libraian when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a dumb idea. As it turns out, they were right.
If I'm going to work somewhere, I need to have diet coke, coffe, and a radio to be able to deal with the day-to-day.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Ruth Fulmer, because I want to catch up..
Never tell your kids they can't acheive their gaols!
If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to my kids, then spend the rest on home, vacatin and retirement.
My first crush "came out of the closet" and he died not long ago. Oh well, as they say, "Thank God for unanswered prayers".
I share my home with a grouchy old Grampa, which I find sometimes interesting and most times aggrivating..
My first job was at GC Murphy's, where I got paid $1.07 an hour to Press draperies. What I remember most about it is feeling like I was RICH!.
Susan D. Hibler, passed away Thursday, Feb. 19, 2009, at parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She is missed.
