Susan's Story
Married for 27 years. Have 2 sons ages 26 and 24 and one daughter age 20. Graduated from Hastings College, Hastings, NE in 1976 with B.A. in Art Education and English. Taught for 5 years before quitting to raise my family. Have lived in western Nebraska for the past 30+ years. Love it here!! In 2007 I went to Europe for a tour of 7 countries in 16 days. Went when my daughter was nominated as a member of the Nebraska Ambassadors of Music. It was a once in a life time opportunity and was AWESOME!!! Have spent the last couple of years working as a cook at our local nursing home. Still dabble in art - though not a lot of time these...Expand for more
days.I am also starting to produce my own original jewelry. I have a gorgeous 3 1/2 year old granddaughter now from one son and a wonderful daughter-in-law from my other son. My newest venture is writing. I am taking a course in writing children's lit with the goal of one day being published and doing my own illustrations! My husband. Steve, works on a ranch about 15 miles from town. Life here is a far cry from St. Louis, but it has been a great place to raise a family! I still get back to St. Louis from time to time as my mom (who is 90 and still at home!) and my brother are still there. And, that pretty much sums things up!
