Susan's Story
I loved growing up in Redondo Beach, California! The weather was and is so great there. I was very active outdoors, and I loved to go bikeriding, which I still love to do today in Alabama.
After high school I went to El Camino for two semesters. While at El Camino I found a subject that I really loved and that is the German language. That might sound strange, but I am half Swedish and I was always fascinated with that fact. Since El Camino did not offer Swedish I took German and loved it. To make a long story short I worked for Lufthansa German Airlines for 15 years. The first 5 years I was a flight attendant based in Frankfurt, Germany. The last 10 years I was based in L.A., and I was in charge of the First Class Lounge. It was a blast.

gree in German from the University of California Los Angeles. (U.C.L.A.) At U.C.L.A. I met my husband, who was one of my German professors. We soon got married and moved to Northwest Alabama. I was in culture shock for quite a long time. Thank goodness for the internet and cable tv. Since living here I have been a teacher for 16 years. I teach eighth grade world history. I also taught German, but we have so many kids at our school that I had to give that class up to add another world history class to my schedule.
I still travel a lot. I try to go to Europe every year, which of course is always Germany, and then other countries in Europe.
I have four children and two are still at home. All of my children are still in school and doing great.
As you can see I am a very busy person.
