Susan's Story

**FYI -- I did not actually attend Admiral King. But I DID attend Garfield Elementary in Lorain, Ohio until midway through the sixth grade. I was hoping I could catch up with some of the kids (Tracy, Eddie, Karen and Tammy, perhaps?) I went to school with there by adding AK to my schools since there is no listing for Garfield (which I know was closed down and the building sold years ago).** On to the other stuff... I DID attend Berlin Milan Middle school and Edison High School as well as EHOVE JVS (better known as EHOVE Career Center now). When I lived in Lorain, I had friends who were REAL friends. After moving out to BFE (you know what that means), I never felt like I belonged. I think subconsciously, I did everything I could to keep you all from getting to know the real me. Had you though, you would have found a bright, serious but funny (although shy at times) girl who mostly just wanted to disappear. Life for me was never good during my school years. I hear so many people say they would love to have that time back. Not me. I was only too happy to leave those physically and emotionally abu...Expand for more
sive times behind. Now: I am the proud mom of a 19 year old daughter and a 14 year old son. They are both smart, beautiful and handsome respectively, and they make me laugh every day. I was married in 1994 (yes my kids have the same father, we just waited to get married), separated in 2000 and the divorce was final in 2005 (so apparently waiting to get married didn't help!). I am currently single and not dating. Long story. I work for the world's largest retailer (can you guess it??) and I truly love my job. I'm also currently working toward my degree in criminal justice. No, I don't know what I want to be when I grow up. I'm still that bright, serious but funny girl I was in school although now I'm a lot less shy. I'm a lot happier. Life can be a struggle some days, but for the most part, it's good. No regrets. No anger. And no hate. It's wasted energy and takes time I don't have to spare on such trivial things. I hope all of you are happy with the way your lives turned out. And if you're not, remember this from t.s. eliot: "it is never too late to be what you might have been."
