Susan's Story
Life
I've had a great life! Presently owner of "My Brown County Home" tourist rentals in Brown County,IN, (where we used to go to watch the sun rise after the after-prom parties!), and Goat Hill Studio and Gallery (online at Goat Hill Studio) where I sell my photography and handmade paper, I live deep in the woods on our 105 acres with my beautiful 21 year old college student/artist/daughter Laura, our cat and lots of deer. (No hunting allowed!)
Majoring in journalism and business at IU immediately after high school, I finally graduated from The Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC (Design major). I've lived in: San Francisco (designing bridal gowns), Toronto (designing neckties and mens' accessories), England, Scotland, Italy and Switzerland (in fashion photography), Stoney Lonesome,Indiana (working in antipo...Expand for more
verty programs) and Brown County where I married a metalsmith and started my career as a "hippie drop out dairy goat farmer" (with no electric or running water for 15 years!) while running various businesses (leather, weaving, quilt making and natural foods stores)and starting several local and state arts organizations. I got electric, water, a baby and became a Yuppie business manager in '84. Now a landlady and freelance writer/photographer (known online as WriterFreelance and Woodschanter) dabbling in papermaking, I'm divorced and loving life alot! These days I am also very active in Environmental and Peace organizations.
