The now picture was taken recently at my office. The then picture is me holding my baby brother, Michael, in June of 1964. He was 4 months old at the time. After graduating in 1964, I attended Hudson Valley Community College, then SUNY at Albany. After trying several majors, I finally settled on Anthropology as it was a little bit of everything and very interesting. The fact that it didn't lead to many job opportunities didn't bother me much at the time. My sister Bonnie and her husband, John, had moved to Tucson, AZ. so I decided to join them with thoughts of getting my master's degree at the University of Arizona. For various reasons that did not happen, so instead I got a K-12 teaching certificate by taking a few classes at the U of A. I taught for several years, not liking it very much at all. One summer I filled in for John's dad's bookkeeper at the family business and stayed on for about the next 25 years through two new owners. John and I married in 1979 and are now looking forward to retirement in a few years. My mom (now 91), baby brother Mike (now 47) and niece Heather (who would shoot me if I told her age) all live in New York so I get back there about once a year. They are up in the Hoosick Falls, Cambridge area. I loved the desert from the first morning I woke up here but John, who has lived here all his life, would literally like to see greener pastures. December 2015 we will be on the road. True to form, I'm a little older than John, so I may work a few years longer until we can retire together.
