Donald's Story
Life
My name is Donald Huggard.
I was born in Hollywood, California and raised in the San Fernando Valley.
I lived in Granada Hills, I was a Surfer, and went to school at Granada Hills High.
I graduated from Granada Hills High School in 1968.
I then went into the Navy, where I served two tours of duty in Vietnam, in
(HC-7) Helicopter Combat Support Squadron Seven, stationed out of Atsugi, Japan.
After the Navy, I returned to the Valley where I completed my college education and started working for Litton, Guidance and Control Systems, in Woodland Hills, California. I was building Inertial Navigational systems for the F-5 and F-15 Aircraft. This is where I first meet my wife, Judy.
I also, became interested in Magic, through my contacts at Litton. Mr. Ed Alterman and George Voorhees, who were both Ronald McDonald Clowns, got me interested, and I joined the IBM and SAM Magic Clubs in the area. I am still interested and involved in Magic today. I enjoy perf...Expand for more
orming close-up magic for friends and colleagues all over the world.
I got married in 1975 and moved to Salt Lake City Utah in 1977, right after my Daughter, Wendy, was born. We bought our first house in Midvale, Utah and have lived there ever since. My Son, Michael, was born three years later in 1980.
In 1983 I left Litton for Sperry, Univac, which is now L3 Communications.
We have enjoyed Salt Lake City for 24 years, the beautiful mountains and the great Snow Skiing.
I have worked for L3 Communications, as a Field Service Engineer, for 25 years. I work on Satellite Data Link Equipment. I have traveled and lived all over the world, working as a field engineer. I was in Saudi Arabia in 1990 thru 1992, in support of Desert Storm. I have lived in Korea, England, France, Germany, Italy and Puerto Rico. I am now living in Texas, working with the Army, at Fort Hood. We have just bought a new home in Nolanville, Texas. We hope to move in at the end of June 2001.
