Susan's Story
Life
I only went to Concordia for 1 year (my junior year), but I consider it my best (favorite) year of high school. The friends I made there were the most amazing ever....unfortuantely I'm horroble about keeping in touch so we've lost contact with each other. When we left Kansas and returned to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, I only needed 1 English credit to graduate so I went to Brewer High School half a day for the first semeseter only, then walked in May with everyone else. My parents tried to let me finsih up in summer school at CHS, but Admin. wouldn't approve it. Bummer!
I graduated in 1982 and went to junior college for 1 year, then transferred to Dallas Baptist University, where I majored in Elementary Education. I met my husband, Paul, there on the first day. We were introduced by mutual friends and actually just hung out as friends for most of the fi...Expand for more
rst semester...then - voila, we started dating in October and got married on Valentines Day of 1987. (Yes - we just celebrated our 20th anniversary!) I began teaching in January of 1987 (Remedial Reading - 8th graders) and then went on the next year to teach elementary. I taught 1st grade for 5 years, 3rd grade for 4 years and elementary music for 7 years. I quit in May of '04 to stay home with our son, Micah, who arrived in June '04. I teach at a home school co-op and lead an infant thru toddler music experience class for a local church just one day a week (1 hour each!) Paul and I are actively involved in our church and spend a lot of time with friends from there and our community (where we have lived all 20 years of our marriage.)
In my free time (what's that?), I like to scrapbook, read, enjoy music, go to the theatre, travel and hang out with my family.
