Susan's Story
Life
After finishing my BA in English education at the University of Wyoming, I moved to Big Horn, Wyoming. While I was student teaching in Sheridan, I met my husband, Bert Dow. We married in 1979. We spent the 80Âs having babiesÂLaura, Brandon, and Kevin. Laura had multiple handicaps and was extremely medically fragile. We were fortunate to have her in our lives for 18 yearsÂlonger than we thought we would. She died in 1999. Brandon is 23 and Kevin is 20. Brandon is finishing up school at the University of Wyoming. I taught school in Sheridan and in Big Horn for 24 yearsÂmostly middle school but some high school, too. Bert taught and coached, then ranched the weekends and summers with his parents. Bert began ranching full time in 2001. I quit teaching to ranch in 2003.
I enjoy my horses, photography, hiking, writing, and bowling. I took roping school and I would like to continue with that.
I signed up for this site to get in touch with old friends and to find out what has happened to the class of 74. I enjoyed the last reunion--thanks to those who organized it.
