Susan's Story
I have two sons and seven grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. . I. Moved to San Miguel de Allende, Mexico in 2012., where I have a bookkeeping and tax business for ex-pats. I lived in OC until moving to Mexico but have traveled to many European countries and China.
I love the simplicity of living in Mexico, it is like when we grew up in the 50's, a much slower pace with very little crime, a beautiful city with so much art, writing, music and festivals.
I get back to the states once or twice a year to visit family and friends. Have had several visitors which is always fun to show them the sites. San Miguel was established in 1543 and is a Unesco site, with very interesting arc...Expand for more
hitecture. Unlike what so many people think of Mexico because of the news, most cities are more crime free and safer than many in the states, it is mainly the border towns where the problems are. There is a very large community of Americans and Canadians either living here full time or several months out of the year. I am learning some Spanish but it is slow going as I spend more time doing art, embroidering and reading. Since my husband is fluent I don't have as much motivation.
Look forward to our next reunion, our 50th was the best ever. If any of you have San Miguel on your bucket list and come please let me know, would love to meet up and can tell you some of the best places to see.
