Susan's Story
Life
I live in San Antonio, and have been married since May 2003 to the wonderful Robert Raiford, my soulmate. He died in June of 2022, so I am now a widow.
We were blessed with a son, George, in 2010, who still lives with me in Texas.
I moved around a lot for college and grad school (Indiana, California, Colorado, Texas). I am a psychologist and I develop intelligence tests. I was a psychotherapist for a number of years. College
I received two masters degrees (one in counseling and one in clinical psychology), then a PhD in clinical psychology.
Workplace
I am a clinical psychologist. I was a full time therapist for awhile, and I currently work at Pearson on a team of researchers developing new versions of the most widely used suite of intelligence tests in the world. I've also been an adjunct professor teaching undergraduate and graduate level psychology students and have written 5 assessment books.
