Susan's Story
School
Before going to Morton Memorial High School in 1969, I went to school in St. Louis, Missouri (my birthplace), Jeffersonville, Indiana (Jeff Red Devils!) and Orleans, Indiana. I still have friends in all places and keep in touch with many of them! Please write me anytime, I would love to hear from you!! In 1969 I was placed in a Children's Home in Knightstown, Indiana with my 4 brothers and sisters. There are 8 children total in my family. I graduated from Morton Memorial High School, (the private school at ISSCH) and received a full scholarship for nursing training at Indiana University. I soon found this profession was not for me. God bless those who do the work! I found I am more of a creative person, so I pursued my career in another direction. I spent several years as a lab technician in the plating field, then 15 plus years as an executive secretary. I finally returned to college in my 40's and earned my degree in Graphic Design Technology. My life changed completely, and the site I developed for the Alumni of the Children's Home has quickly become my "Labour Of Love." There are over 2000 Alumni from the Class of 1939 on up to 2009 that check in daily. Developing this site has been a great positive in my life and I have loved playing even a small part in bringing so many "Homies" back together.. College
After graduating from Morton Memorial High School in Knightstown, Indiana in 1971, I attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana. I was working toward a nursing degree, but decided that that particular field was not for me. I worked as a Lab Technician and Executive Secretary until returning back to college (Daytona State University) in 1998. While graduating with High Honors in 2000, I earned my degree in Graphic Design Technology. Now I am self-employed graphic designer and work out of my Home.
