Susan's Story

Life Did the normal stuff....went to college got married, got divorced, had fun in my twenties and then got married again, had kids, got divorced again. I graduated from UAlbany with a Computer Science and Applied Math B.S., working full time in database during my senior year. I worked 18 years for the State of New York, climbing way too fast up the civil service ladder. So in order to move up, it was either wait for someone to retire or die. So instead, I moved on to work at Key and even tried a relocate to Cleveland which lasted 4 months. I now live in E. Greeenbush (across the river from Albany) with my 2 sons; Drew (17) and Adam (15). They are both on the JV baseball team for Columbia hig...Expand for more
h. Drew plays Varsity football and Adam will be playing JV next year after finishing his Pop Warner career this year as Captain of Defense. I'm still in the tech field, working as a Data Architect (data warehousing) for a health organization. All in all, life is good - enjoying the busy-ness of the boys and their sports - and not looking forward to their "off to college" years. It's been a journey raising two boys by myself, but I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. Even now, as they challenge me with their teenage "stuff", they mean the world to me. I probably shouldn't have bought Drew that car for Christmas, though...seems to be the root cause of a lot of that teenage "stuff".
