Susan's Story
Life
I started HS at Thornwood but left after my sophomore year and moved to CA. After graduating from Ygnacio Valley I went to CSU, Chico. I graduated with degrees in Microbiology and Chemistry. I have worked as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist in Salinas, CA for 28 years now. I also helped a startup Biotech firm, BioBanc USA, get licensed to cryo-preserve autologous white blood cells. I continue to work per diem for them. I have been married to me husband, David, since 1983.
I have 2 sons, Brian and Michael. Brian is a Freshman at CSU,Chico studying Music Industry/Recording Arts. I am happy about his love of music. His main instrument is electric guitar. se. He decided to concentrate on music instead of basketball in college, although he had offers for that and Track for scholarships. He also has a Comparative Religious Studies Minor and is planning on studying abroad in hailand next year.
My younger son, Mike, is a Freshman at Salinas High. He likes all the things most 14 year olds like... MySpace, skateboarding, BMX biking and hanging out with friends. He is also an excellent basketball player that is going to try out for the SHS team.
I think often, though not always fondly, on my school years. There are many people that I wonder what happened to them and what they are doing now. When we were young we all had so many dreams about what we wanted to do. How many of us actually went on to follow those dreams? I hope some of us did. For the rest of us... there's still time!
