Susan's Story
I went to Cerritos College for a year after highschool, then went to work full time. I got married at 20 to a guy in the Navy, and moved to Wisconsin when he was discharged in 1977. We bought a home, had a daughter, then a son, and moved to Arkansas in 1982. A year later I hated Arkansas, hated him, took the kids home to California. Several years later, met my current husband and his daughter, but didn't get married for 10 more years. Started a new job which grew into a career in the welding industry, where I still am today. My daughter (now 27) joined the Army, married a boy from Georgia, got sent to Germany, gave birth to my grandson (now 6), got deployed to Kuwait, her husband to Iraq, sent my grandson to us to care for for a year, came back safe from the war & settled in Georgia. My son (now 26) eventually moved out, married his highschool crush and settled in Norwalk. My stepdaughter (now 20) lives in Poway with her mother. My husband and I bought a house in Riverside in 2000 and are still there. Married 10 years now. Life is good.
