Susanne's Story

Life Hello to all! The last time I was in Texas City was at my 25th reunion in 1993; graduated in 1968. It was great to see everyone and re-live those old high school days. I was privileged to be a part of that great Stingaree Marching Band so would love to hear from any old band members. Since I just turned 55 I decided it was time to try to reconnect with old friends and acquaintances. Quite a few of you will remember my father, Coach Al Foreman, more than you will remember me. At the 25th reunion lots of you wanted to know how he was doing. I took a bunch of pictures and he really enjoyed seeing them. Kind of rusty on the memories now but I remember he was so surprised to see that Jimmy Langford had grown up. I believe Jimmy played on one of his baseball teams. Unfortunately he was only with us for two more years as he passed away in August of 1995. He would have been 79 years old that September. Those of you who remember him know he was a really great guy and his loss was so hard for all of us. My son, Scott, has a lot of daddy's easy going, friendly personality. Then we lost mother in 1998 to lung cancer. Those of you who have lost one or both parents know what a sad time that is. I made a couple of mistakes along the way with two failed marriages. In 1992 a friend who I knew through my job insisted on introducing me to one of his dearest friends. He told me he just "knew we were meant to be together." Well, he turned out to be 100 per cent right and in...Expand for more
November of 2001, after 9 years of dating, we were married. He went to the 1993 reunion with me so some of you have met him. I can't say enough about what a blessing he is to me. It took me a while to get it right, but he is a truly great guy. So now I have 2 older stepchildren and 5 grandchildren; three little boys and new born identical twin girls. I retired in 1999 after 15 years in customer service with a small company that is a division of Sara Lee Foods. Since then I've been busier than I've ever been. I help Randy sometimes with his companies plus do lots of babysitting for grandkids! I have had the same ups and downs in life that most of you have had, but overall I have been very blessed with great family and friends. I'm hoping to reconnect with anyone from the high school years. In particular I'd love to hear from, or about, Sharon Clepper Richard, Shirley Zenthoefer, Clifton King, David Tilley, David Gorcyca, and Craig Cannon. I saw Sharon and David G. at the 1993 reunion but haven't had contact since then. If anyone is in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, I'm in Arlington so it would be easy to catch up with each other. If anyone knows about plans for a 40th reunion, I'd love to attend. If I'm figuring right, that would be in 2008 which isn't that far away. After mother and daddy died, we lost contact with anyone in Texas City but would really enjoy hearing from anyone who would like to catch up with an old high school chum.
