Susan's Story

According to my high school prophecy, I was to be one of the last to marry. Instead, I was probably one of the first. I met my husband Pete on a blind date during my first month at Rice. We married after my sophomore year, and here we are almost 48 years later. We have 2 sons and a daughter. After living in Germany while my husband was in the army, we returned to the Houston area. We raised our children in Alvin, living there for 25 years. I taught gifted and d talented students at all grade levels in the Alvin schools and finished my tenure there as the lead English teacher. never have grandchildren, we were blessed with two within seven weeks of each other. They are now seven. They were joined by two more, one now five and the other nine months. Being Grammy is the best job I have ever had. I also enjoy quilting, travel, and reading. Gotta love those Kindles! So sorry to miss our 50th reunion, but we have longstanding reservations for our annual family trip to a dude ranch in southern Colorado. I would have loved to reminisce about some of my memories of TJ- Being in Our Town, Mrs. Cage's English class, study hall in the auditorium with that lady who wore a permanent prune face. (Who can blame her- we weren't always that nice!) Aaah well, there's always our 60th.
