Suzann's Story

Old Stuff Since HS: There are several in high school that I will never forget -- those that were a part of my life in and out of school. Most of the people that I remember are those that came later in my life. I moved to LA, to Houston, back to LA, and to Miami where I met and married my husband. Always wanted someone who knew a good thing when he saw it, but when it happened it scared the living daylights out of me. Our first date in August he told me he was going to marry me -- his sister knew since February. We moved to Brownsville, Texas because of his job and I went back to college (after 20 years of not being in school) at UTSB/Pan Am Univ. Better late than never! I was honors and Dean's List while there (once a Geek, always a Geek, I guess), which means that I did not do a lot of socializing, but we had to move back to Miami and I didn't finish. I worked for the Univ of Miami for eight years and with tuition remission obtained more classes, but alas, that didn't last either. When Eddy started having health problems I stopped those classes, took classes in medical transcription (Valedictorian), left the university, and now I'm back in Texas. I keep in touch with friends and family through emails. My life is not the way I thought it would be. It has taken several strange turns over the years, but I have no complaints. h to do some traveling and would still like to do more, but that will have to wait. My husband passed 12 years ago. I worked at a Mexican restaurant while in high school and my folks made me take Spanish, but I had no idea I'd end up marrying a Cuban. He kept all his promises, was very faithful, and spoiled me terribly. I still work when there's jobs in this little town. My oldest brother (Newport Harbor '60) lives with me. I've become a member of the Concho Pearl Lions Club. I'll be working the Pancake Breakfast -- it's fun seeing all the people. I guess that's about it in a nutshell. If you stop by, please sign in so I know you've visited. I have signed back in to Classmates (Jan 2015) and I am not impressed. I am on Facebook (Suzann Eby-Martinez) I can get private messages there, but you people stop by here and never say a thing. I don't bite and I'd love to know how everyone is doing. I may even sound very serious (which I can be), but normally I figure most places just hire me for laughs. I don't take myself serious - life is too short. If you come by after my year is up -- I'm gone. I can think of other ways to spend my money. :) I look forward to seeing you on Facebook with a private message to let me know you're there. Class of '64, I hope your lives have been fulfilling, that the years have treated you kindly, and the best of everything you hoped they'd be. Suzann
