Suzanne's Story
I am a very lucky person as I have a really good husband and two great kids that are both grown now.
I moved to Alberta in 2008. We bought an acreage in the Raymond area.
Hair Sheep, 3 horses, 4 dogs and a few cats. I spend a lot of time gardening and start most of my plants from seed as I also have a greenhouse. I am just getting started with producing lamb. I started with 6 ewes in the fall of 2009 and one border ram (purebred Dorper) that I will use for 2010 breeding. We offered free boarding for free breeding as an agreement with the rams owners. We have purebred Dorpers, purebred Katahdins and crosses thereof. We are currently at 27...Expand for more
Ewes and 2 Rams of our own. Our farm name is "Win D Acres" I love the sheep they are beautiful animals and I am very happy with my choice of hair sheep instead of woolies. My Dorpers are still woolie but they shed out so there is no need to shear. The Katahdins are really more hairy with a thick undercoat that sheds out. These animals crossed make a lovely meat sheep with nice lean mild flavored meat.
In so many ways I am very spoiled. I just wanted to get back in touch with some people from school. I would like to find out how things turned out for them.
Our school had some wonderful teachers (though I didn't always think so back then).
