...Lord Byron
Born in LA but raised in metro Detriot, I always considered myself a displaced person. However, since most people think I DO live in lala land, it's all good. After all, I did get to enjoy Motown in the late 50's and 60's...cruising in souped up cars on Woodward Avenue...Hudson's, the Tigers when they were always great, Boblo, Belle Isle, Greenfield Village, Cranbrook, and Detroit in its prime...just to name a few perks. Besides, I like snow. In CA, they keep it tucked into the mountains where you can go and visit it and still drive to the desert or ocean in same day. (maybe) Here, we get stuck in our own driveways. Hell, I don't even HAVE a driveway so I get to be stuck on the street and plowed in--but...much more exciting and challenging. "We" are obviously made of tougher stuff. And..."we" have regular seasons, not mudslides, earthquakes and fires. Having said that, I do miss the southern CA of the fifties...gone forever. I have 3 of the most incredible children ever...all so talented, creative and so dedicated to their causes. They have given me 6 of the greatest treasures a parent can have...grandchildren! I adore them all.".
