from Suzanne Konic Molskness, 1-17-15 I have lived in the small town (8500) of Thief River Falls, MN, which is about 80 miles south of the Canadian border & 1-hour from the nearest large city (Grand Forks, ND). I've been married 27+ years to Lyle, who grew up in this town & is where his family lives. I married too late for me to have children (in 1987) but Lyle has 3 grown sons who live in the Twin Cities area, so there are I think about 9 grandchildren. I work part time as a peer support person in a group home for people with mental illness, which is an interesting & very challenging job because of a lot of drama with up to 15 unhappy adults! I am semi-disabled with scoliosis & clinical depression & Lyle is retired from furniture manufacture & disabled with fibromyalgia - so we are the semi-blind leading the blind, so to speak! We live with a smoothcoat collie service dog for Lyle & 2 kitties for me, & we are surrounded by Lyle's great family, his sister Rhoda being my best friend, his brother, & his very large extended family. This town contains more Norwegians per capita, than any other city in the U.S. & Scandinavians live often well into the 90's & even 100's, so he still has aunts & uncles.
