Suzanne's Story

Hi Everyone, Let me fill you in on what has been going on in my life for the past thirty plus years. Shortly after I graduated, a beautiful wedding took place with my future father-in-law holding a shotgun. That lasted exactly one year, one month and eleven days and brought us a beautiful daughter of which I was left to raise and support. I didn't struggle too long and was married again in less than two years. As you can see, my goal in life was to be married and raise a family. God, was I naive! Well, I have a marriage that is going on 35 years and have painfully raised three children, one of which is still living at home with us. It is amazing the marriage has survived all the chaos our kids have put us through. (and I thought I was bad!) Really! There is a lot of love in the family...we just are dysfunctional, but I am happy to say, we are not the only dysfunctional family on the block! We have a nice home in Cypress, CA and have never roosted very far from Long Beach. Some of you may only have a vague memory of me, as I did my best to avoid going to high school as much as possible and ended up getting shipped to Reed High School where I almost caught up on all my credits our senior year. I managed to complete my credits in adult school that summer and received my diploma in the mail, like the rest of you. God has a funny way...Expand for more
of dealing with me though. In my many successful attempts of NOT going to school, I find myself now working in a high school with special ed students, so I guess you could say...I still wake up Monday thru Friday and go to school! The district allows nine sick days, and yup, you guessed it....I make sure I take every day off they give me...and I am not usually sick! Shocking....I know! On the days I skip school, I find a friend and we have fun going to the beach or just hanging out and playing guitar. Oil and acrylic painting are another hobby of mine. My physical activities include a game called volleytennis...low net with a team of six setting and bumping a volleyball that is allowed to bounce. I also play on two softball teams (second base, catcher and pitcher) One team is womens and the other is a tournament team that travels locally. The teams are "Senior Leagues" out of Huntington Beach. Yes! I said "Senior", but not all of us are seniors. The youngest player is 45...our oldest woman is 82, and a damn good player! Let's see...I still have 17718 character's left on the space they give for "my story", but besides the three grandchildren, I can't think of anything else I would like to tell you at this time. There is more...many, many more juicy details about my life, but you will have to make the effort to know me again before I tell you.
