Suzi's Story
Most of you won't remember me since I left Sharpstown in '77 to go to HSPVA, but I kept a few friends fom Sharpstown.
What's happened since? Well, I dropped out in 78 and gave birth to my only child, Melissa, in 1980. She just completed her Masters at Georgetown and moved to NC with her engineer husband. No grandbabies yet-hopefully next year!
Got my GED in 1998, started classes at HCC in 2002. Ran into Anthony Pearson who became my sociology instructor. That was weird. Went on to take some classes at U of H, trying to major in Atmospheric Sciences with an emphasis in Numerical Modeling. That's fancy wording for an almost full-fledged meteorologist. anyone's guess.
Currently I spend my time either doing Disaster relief for the Red Cross (DAT Team C) or stormchasing. Yes, I'm one of those people-the idiots that chase tornadoes, hurricanes, little tiny thunderstorms. Made a little money from some pictures and video. Chases including Katrina (bad idea), Rita, Andrew, Emily and too many tornado chases to count. It's not unusal for me to be in Kansas or Oklahoma or anywhere in Texas in a given week. So, if you see a red and gray Ford F150 with a Certified Storm Spotter decal driving around Houston, it's a good bet that's me.
I've survived 2 rounds of cancer and 10 years of Rheumatoid Arthritis so life is good! Hope it is for you too!
