Sylvia's Story
First of all, I have NEVER been called Sylvia. I go by Elise. You would have known me from band, chorus and for crying to Mr. Kulakowski one time about my physics grade. (It worked; he gave me a C instead of the D I richly deserved.)I lived in Grove City, about 18 miles from VHS, which made for long bus rides.
So much of these profiles don't fit us who have lived most of our lives already, but lately I've been thinking about the past 45 years, sorting out the many ways God has blessed me and mine.
I have been a classical/sacred singer and music director, university bookseller and teacher.
I've raised and shown Arabian horses, dogs and fish, raised four kids, taught music in mostly private schools (because of discipline and seriousness about academics) and have enjoyed traveling to most of Europe, Africa, north American countries, 45...Expand for more
states and most of the Caribbean. I still want to go to New Zealand/ Australia. One of my favorite places to kick back is Nova Scotia and the Maritime islands of Canada.
Now I sing in an excellent chorus in Venice, <exsultate.org> CHeck us out. I'm the fat blond broad on your extreme left front row in the pictures. I still have the chops for singing, thank God. I can't imagine living without music.
We attend and are involved in Englewood United Methodist Church and enjoy our grandchildren, two in TX,Elise 13, Danny 10, and three living with us now that their dad is in Korea for a year with the Air Force. They are Corbin 5, Calvin 4 and Christopher-the-mouth, aged 2. The two-year-old told me yesterday that I am not the boss of the world, which comes as a complete surprise to me.
I'd love to hear from any of our old classmates.
