I have retired to a charming historical town in central Mexico, where I hear horse hooves on cobblestones outside my window, mariachis, fireworks, church bells, roosters, and FIESTAS which include lots of fireworks! I lived in Paris before moving here, but find Mexico much more do-able. I have a rescue dog who came to me with 5 cigarette holes burned in each ear. While recovering from dystemper, gangrene set in, and the little guy had to have a double earectomy. Friends abound, and there is always something juanderful to do. It is a joy to give back to this community by volunteering. I feed 65 children a week. I head a community support group to upgrade the emergency care here in San Miguel. I write a column for the local newspaper, which features my photos, have a photography business, am going to do stand up comedy for the first time this month, and am acting in a play.
