Life

Spent 21 years living up in Mt Baldy. Still have my little cabin across from the fire station. Worked for the USFS for 11 years, left after Yellowstone burned.
Worked as a part time ski patrol supervisor and lead avalanche forecaster, and explosives tech at Mt Baldy Ski Lifts for 8 years.
Went to work for DoD Fire Dept in Seal Beach, Norco, and Long Beach for 10 years. Promoted to Asst. Chief in 1990.
Got hired by LAFD at age 40, and now find myself riding the tailboard in Cypress Park, NE of Dodger Stadium, FS 44-B.
Married Suzanne and became a step-father of 4 in 1999, have a son Timothy Braxton, 8; house in La Verne burned down the same year (her first Ex was jealous); we divorced in 2004. (I made a poor decision).
Lost a step son, Spencer, 13, Christmas Eve 2006, to an undetected tumor on his brain stem. He passed with-in hours...

I still ski like a mad man; I hunt birds, deer and elk; private pilot; SCUBA diver; have rappeled from helicopters during wildland fires; receipient of Medal of Valor; I co-own 2 whitewater rafts; have backpacked 33 days from Mt Whitney to Yosemite; hitch-hiked solo around New Zealand for 2 weeks, and skied all they had, including the Tazman Glacier; I have rowed many of the Western U.S. rivers; have rowed in New Zealand; recently been envited to do a river in Nepal; doing 22 days in the BIG Ditch (Grand Cyn) this Aug, we have room for 2 more... You can meet us at Phantom Ranch on Aug 25 if you're only up to doing the last 15 days.
Went to the zoo today on a field trip, Woo Hoo...
