Risako's Story

After graduating from U of M, I worked for JP Morgan Tokyo office for two years. During that time, I was sent over to NY for their Wall Street training so lived in Manhattan for 6 months. I got into acting accidentally by getting into an amateur theatre company that was too much fun. So I quit JPM and pursued acting. I was accepted to study at this well-known theatre company in Tokyo, so I worked for a Tokyo Broad Casting System during the day and studied acting at night for one year. When the term was over, I decided to fly over to Hollywood and see what's up there for awhile. I sudied at the Lee Strasberg...Expand for more
Theatre Institute in LA, then booked several TV commercial gigs and decided to stay here for awhile. Wow, it's been 12 years now.... You can see me on South Park's "Chinpokomon" episode, Curb Your Enthusiasm's "Acupuncturist", Punk'd with Akon, etc.., that rerun over and over. I also anchor this local TV show called JATV News. You can see the program on the website if you look up JATV, I think. I have to be honest with you, but I couldn't speak very good English when I was in Michigan, and I don't really remember people's names. But I really had fun time in Michitan! :) Risako Takahashi AKA Saki Miata
