Tami's Story

I hope my classmates remember me as someone who was friends with anyone, regardless if they were considered to be popular, nerdy, or a "burn out." I love to cook and bake! I can try new recipes all day....not all of them successful, but most of them fun. My obsessions? Shoes, purses, clothes, travel, and sharing fun experiences with my husband, Charles. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my bathroom and add on a steam shower. My dream home would be a victorian style home with a porch and a turret in the corner. If I won $100 million, I'd give some of it to my family, especially my nieces so that they can go to college, then spend the rest on a victorian home, charity and save most of it. I am currently working as a risk manager for a local staffing company: managing their workers' comp, unemployment, and various forms of insurance. My best friend would tell you I'm actually a bit insecure, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as confident. If I ever dress like I did 10-20 years ago, please take me out back and put me out of my misery!!! I share my home with my husband, Charles, my two boxers, Festus an...Expand for more
d Sugar Ray, and my orange tabby, Yiddie, which I find to be the great loves of my life. If I got one mulligan in life, I'd never have married my first husband, and would have gone off to college somewhere, even if it means I would have incurred a lot of student loan debt. I was too afraid at that age that I would not succeed. I met my oldest friend, Laura (Travillian) Merrithew at a school picnic at Navarre Park at the end of our 2nd and 3rd grade years, respectively. I had climbed up a tree and was sitting there watching people. Laura looked up at me and said "how did you get up there." I climbed down and showed her how. We've been friends ever since! My first job was at Ponderosa as a waitress with my friend Laura, where I got paid almost nothing (plus "tips" HA!) to serve people and their bratty kids cheap steak and fries. What I remember most about it is people complaining about the food and letting their kids throw food around, smear ketchup on the walls, and grind salad fixin's into the carpet. Then I'd have to clean it up and they'd leave a $1 tip. Nice!. I always remember how hard waitresses work, and ALWAYS, ALWAYS tip them well.
